About DCCSAN

The DCCSAN center is a child-focused, facility-based program in which a multidiscipline team of representatives from law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, mental health, medical and victim advocacy work together, conducting joint forensic interviews and making team decisions about the investigation, treatment, management and prosecution of child abuse cases.

We are a community-based program designed to meet the unique needs of the Grand Lake region of Northeast Oklahoma. We believe child abuse is a multifaceted community problem and no single agency, individual or discipline has the necessary knowledge, skills or resources to serve the needs of all children and their families independently. DCCSAN’s primary goal is to ensure that children are not further victimized by the intervention systems designed to protect them.

DCCSAN Mission
Our Mission is to minimize the trauma to child victims during the investigation and prosecution of cases, and to improve the system’s response to child abuse and neglect by uniting the efforts of public agencies and enlisting community support.
DCCSAN History
The Delaware County Children’s Special Advocacy Network (DCCSAN) was the vision of the district attorney, child protective services (CPS) and a therapist. They saw a need to deal with the serious issue of child abuse in Delaware County by implementing a team approach. They formed a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) made up of the district attorney, law enforcement, child protective services and other agencies dealing with child abuse in the county. In September of 1994, the team established DCCSAN to provide a child focused setting and to provide services to victims of child abuse. DCCSAN became a fully accredited member of NCA in March 1997. We were re-accredited in October, 2013. DCCSAN continues to provide, forensic interviewing, counseling, multidisciplinary team coordination, case tracking court preparation, and crisis intervention children of Delaware County.
